You hang up the shirts, the jackets, the pants — and you're left holding a stack of hats, scarves, belts, and bags with nowhere left on the rod to put them. So they end up on a shelf, stuffed in a drawer, or in a pile on the closet floor, and getting dressed turns into a five-minute search every morning for the one belt you actually wanted.
The usual fixes don't really fix it. A second dresser eats up floor space you don't have. Wall hooks mean drilling into a wall you're not allowed to touch if you rent. And tossing everything into a bin just trades one kind of mess for another — now it's out of sight, but still tangled and impossible to find at a glance.
