How does it stay up? Is it magnetic?

No magnets, no glue on your furniture. The base of the flame is a flat plate that slides underneath two or three of your books. Their weight pins it down, and the flame column carries the dragon up into the air. That's the whole mechanism — and it's why the fire is the only thing holding it there.

Will it fall if I knock the shelf?

It won't. Once the books are back on the base plate it's genuinely solid, and the whole piece weighs only a few hundred grams, so there's very little mass wanting to tip. The only time to lift it off is if you need one of the specific books sitting on the plate.

Does it come assembled, and is it fragile?

It arrives in two parts, deliberately separated so nothing snaps in the post. You slot the flame into the dragon's jaw and you're finished — about thirty seconds, no tools. It is a fine-detail print and we'd rather say so than have you find out: handle it by the base, don't force the joint, and glue is in the box if you want it permanent.
